Chicagoland Critical Care Conference (C4) 2019

Critical care practice & related pharmacotherapy encompasses a wide variety of disease states. New developments challenge the practitioner to stay abreast of emerging therapies & novel treatment strategies. This conference will focus on clinical controversies or novel therapies across the gamut of critical care medicine. We are excited to partner with Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago to include a pediatric track this year. Highlighted educational topics will include “Application of Pain, Agitation, Delirium, Immobility, and Sleep Hygiene Guidelines,” “Stop the Bleeding: Unique Case(s) for Antithrombotic Reversal,” “The Anticoagulation Tool Kit for Pediatric ECMO,” “Narcotic Avoidance Strategies and Analgesic Adjuncts in Critically Ill Patients”, among others. Additional conference activities will include hands-on education where participants will get to interact with a mechanical ventilator.  Activities include a discussion of the components of a mechanical ventilator and its various modes, demonstration of a typical ventilator circuit with a description of key aspects of medication delivery, and the opportunity to “experience” being mechanically ventilated.
