Learning Objectives :

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Identify causes and treatment options for patients that develop acute liver failure
  • Compare the mechanisms of N-acetylcysteine for the treatment of acetaminophen vs non-acetaminophen
    induced acute liver failure
  • Evaluate current literature for the use of N-acetylcysteine to treat non-acetaminophen acute liver failure.
