Learning Objectives:

  • Describe the epidemiology, treatment, and outcomes of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection in solid organ transplant recipients.
  • Identify key patient specific factors associated with CMV disease, and key toxicities associated with currently available CMV therapies.
  • Explain how healthcare professionals can use risk factor screening and cell mediated immunity assays to predict outcomes and direct therapy to improve the provision of care in the prophylaxis and treatment of CMV in solid organ transplant recipients.
