  • Identify the key role insulin resistance has on the development of NAFLD and why this should be the target of all lifestyle and pharmacological interventions.
  • Discuss the role of liver transplant in the management of NAFLD in the context of decompensated cirrhosis or liver cancer and the importance of early referral to a transplant center.
  • Discuss the role of medications in the NAFLD management, including vitamin E, pioglitazone, metformin, liraglutide, and semaglutide; in addition to others in the pipeline.
