Target Audience: Pharmacists, nurses, and nurse practitioners who manage critically ill patients.

Program Description: Critical care practice & related pharmacotherapy encompasses a wide variety of disease states. New developments challenge the practitioner to stay abreast of emerging therapies & novel treatment strategies. This conference will focus on clinical controversies or novel therapies across the gamut of critical care medicine. Highlighted educational topics will include “Sleep Hygiene in the intensive care unit (ICU),” “Antimicrobial De-escalation Strategies in the ICU,” “ICU Burnout,” “Super-refractory Status Epilepticus”, among others. Additional conference activities will include hands-on education surrounding bedside hemodynamic monitoring, information on the best practices and future utilization of ketamine in the ICU, and how to implement and deploy early warning systems in the detection of sepsis.

Registration Deadline: Friday, August 17, 2018
Registration fee includes: continental breakfast, boxed lunch, parking validation, networking reception, and up to 6.25 contact hours (0.625 CEUs) of continuing pharmacy education credits or up to 6.25 contact hours of continuing nursing education credits.  Advanced practice nurses may count a total of 4.0 contact hours for the pharmacotherapeutic educational requirement. Paper handouts will not be provided. Handouts will be provided electronically for attendees to download and print before the conference.

Please Note:
All audience response questions, such as pre- and post-tests and active learning questions, will be conducted via the internet. Attendees must bring a smartphone, tablet, or laptop to this conference in order to participate in these activities and earn CE credits.
