  • Describe a current controversy in pharmacy clinical practice.
  • Discuss the current literature around the controversy, strengths, and weaknesses of methodology.

Seminar Learning Objectives:  

  • Recognize how gastric surgeries can affect the absorption of direct oral anticoagulants.
  • Review current evidence on direct oral anticoagulant use after bariatric surgery.
  • Recognize the role of pharmacists in the selection of appropriate anticoagulation therapy for patients with a history of bariatric surgery.
