Learning Objectives: 
At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe the pathophysiology and subtypes of antibody-mediated rejection (AMR) and impact on graft survival
  • Review current therapies for initial and salvage treatment of AMR
  • Explain the mechanism of action of tocilizumab and role in immunosuppression
  • Outline the current literature describing the use of tocilizumab for AMR
