Learning Objectives :

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe the incidence of HIV and what patient populations are at increased risk of acquiring Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV).
  • Identify injectable, vaginal rings, implantable, microbicides, patches, and immunoprophylaxis therapies for the prevention of HIV.
  • Explain safety concerns like weight gain, gastrointestinal issues, and other monitoring parameters associated with HIV prevention therapies.
