Learning Objectives :

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Compare and contrast the inotropic effects of rate slowing drugs used in acute treatment of atrial fibrillation (AFIB) with rapid ventricular response (RVR)
  • Summarize current evidence for acute rate control treatment of AFIB with RVR in patients with heart failure
  • Develop an evidence-based treatment plan for acute rate control in patients with AFIB with RVR based on patient specific factors
