Learning Objectives :

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Recognize the importance of adequately controlling agitation in the emergency department
  • Identify inconsistencies with the FDA's black box warning for droperidol vs. what the published research has shown
  • Compare different methods of managing agitation in the emergency department
