Learning Objectives :

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe the potential effect of beta-blockers on lung function in patients with asthma or COPD.
  • Evaluate the safety of using nonselective and cardio-selective beta-blockers in patients with reactive airway disease.
  • Design a treatment plan for a patient with reactive airway disease who is also indicated for a beta-blocker.
