Learning Objectives :

At the completion of this activity, the participant will be able to:

  • Describe the pathophysiology and mechanism of action of systemic corticosteroids in asthma.
  • Discuss the efficacy and safety of short-term dexamethasone in the treatment of acute asthma exacerbations in pediatric patients.
  • Identify the role and limitations of dexamethasone use in the treatment of acute asthma exacerbations in the pediatric populations.
